It's impossible for me to fully separate myself from Leftfield, so wrapped up are my memories of education in both Leftism and Rhythm and Stealth.

In light of this admission, it was perhaps fortunate that I first heard 'Universal Everything' on the radio while driving. Free from any sort of preconceived notions of a comeback (I didn't even know they'd returned... finger on the pulse, me) I was free to discover Leftfield anew.

Once it had started to burrow into my skull and I'd decided it was actually pretty fantastic, I risked a few glances down at the radio display until it cycled round to show the artist. Once that was revealed, little familiar elements came to the fore. It's a proper Leftfield song, capable of inducing both comfort and aggression while all the time bringing you completely under its spell.
